The online course, Shared Mobility in Action, distills real-world lessons from the EU project GEMINI to help participants design, procure, and scale inclusive shared mobility services. Course Content

Module 1: Orientation and Why Shared Mobility Matters?
This module provides a comprehensive introduction to shared mobility and its importance in shaping sustainable urban transport systems. It familiarizes learners with key concepts such as car-sharing, bike-sharing, and Mobility as a Service (MaaS), while situating them within the broader objectives of the GEMINI Project. Learners will examine the main benefits and challenges of shared mobility, including its potential to reduce emissions, improve accessibility, and optimize transport efficiency. The module also explores the key innovation and sustainability drivers behind these systems, preparing participants to understand real-world applications and future developments. A short quiz is included to reinforce understanding of core concepts and challenges.

Module 2: Business Models for Shared Mobility
This module explores how shared mobility services are designed, delivered, and sustained from a business and operational perspective. Learners will gain an understanding of different business models, including public, private, and hybrid approaches, and how they are applied in real-world mobility services. The module also examines key elements of operational planning, such as service design, fleet management, pricing strategies, and stakeholder collaboration. In addition, it highlights the importance of user acceptance and engagement in ensuring the success and scalability of shared mobility solutions.

Module 3: Insights from Cities and Operators
This module presents real-world examples of shared mobility implementation across different European cities. Learners will explore how cities and operators design, deploy, and manage mobility solutions in practice, highlighting lessons learned, challenges, and success factors. Through case studies, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how concepts such as Mobility as a Service (MaaS), mobility hubs, and digital tools are applied in diverse urban contexts. The module emphasizes practical insights and transferable knowledge within the framework of the GEMINI Project.

Module 4: From Pilot to Scale: Summary and Action Plan
This module focuses on how shared mobility solutions can transition from pilot phases to full-scale implementation. Learners will explore evaluation methods, key performance indicators (KPIs), and practical tools used to assess and improve mobility services. The module also addresses common challenges in scaling and highlights the role of data and intelligence in supporting informed decision-making. Participants will gain actionable insights to design, evaluate, and scale sustainable mobility solutions within the framework of the GEMINI Project.
